Course Description:
This is an elective course for junior English major students. This course aims to further students’ understanding of the core concepts, theories and techniques. Moreover, this course will also develop their competence of applying translation techniques to English-Chinese translation of both applied and literary texts, and to prepare them for translation criticism and appreciation.
In this course, translation process and product will be viewed in addition to translation strategies and tactics being analyzed from various theoretical perspectives. The teacher will give complete focus to students’ potential, innovation, and practical ability; thereby develop their ability to think critically and translate professionally to properly prepare them for the translation industry.
